Redeeming Points
Redeeming Membership Rewards® points with the American Express® Gold Card comes with several options, with some options being better than others. For example, 60,000 points can be redeemed for $600 worth of flights booked through amextravel.com. But for hotels booked with the American Express® Gold Card through amextravel.com, those same 60,000 points can be redeemed for only around $420 of value. American Express also gives card members the option to transfer points out to a number of great hotel and airline partner programs where redemption values can be potentially even higher when points are strategically transferred.
Conclusion
The American Express® Gold Card has been updated with more credits for an increased annual fee. The four primary credits on this card can provide up to $424 in combined annual value, which may justify the higher cost of this card for some people. The great spending multipliers also make the American Express® Gold Card one of the best options for earning rewards on food spending. If the credits and benefits fit your lifestyle well, then this card is tough to beat!
